Acting/drama schools for novice, non-undergraduate student?

Hi all,
So I completed a year of of DO school (osteopathic medicine) but decided medicine isn’t for me. I’m looking to transition into acting as I’ve always had interest in it, but not the guts. The downside: I have no acting-related experience. I’m trying to see if there’s any school would be a fit for me.
Thanks for your input.

Where are you located? There are lots of schools of acting out there as well as actors studios that are mostly for adult students. You’ll want to live somewhere where there is acting work so you can apply for jobs while you study. Acting isn’t something you learn by studying only - you need to do. and having gotten through your undergraduate degree already you can jump right in.

I’m in Virginia, close to DC. Do you happen to any good schools around here?

@avt5et there are lots of terrific theatres around DC including many high quality community theatres, which may be a good place to start auditioning to gain experience, and can be combined with a day job.
In terms of training, you may want to check out the Theatre Lab https://theatrelab.org/. They have a year long training program, that can also be combined with a day job.
