Hi. So I have recently started my Theatre Degree at St. Bonaventure University and it is not really what I was looking for. I don't believe that this program will help me in the future. I am looking to transfer to another theatre program.

I am looking for the best theatre programs that do not require an audition. If they do, however, I would still be interested in them if I can audition as a transfer. Any help would be great.

Great news: The Department of Theatre and Dance at Ball State University welcomes transfer students! The Theatrical Studies Option at is an excellent choice for many people, and does not require an audition. Theatrical Studies majors at Ball State are able to study varied parts of theatre from technical to performing aspects. Many Theatre students who graduate from Ball State are employed for this reason: having many skills makes a prospective employee very attractive to a theatre company (no one likes a one trick pony ). The entire Department of Theatre and Dance at Ball State has a very collaborative and creative environment that allows all students to grow and thrive.

If you are looking to pursue a BFA in Acting or Musical Theatre, Ball State also accepts auditions from transfer students in these options. These are excellent programs which are a great choice for many people as well.

I hope you look into Ball State and find a good fit!

I’m a current student at Ball State and just thought you would like to check it out. I know some of the transfer students and they seem to work well in the program. I hope this has helped!

James James Madison University is an auditioned BA program, but accepts transfer students. Most students who transfer in at sophomore level are able to complete their studies in three years.
