Acting Program

I auditioned at Point Park and was accepted into the Acting program! I am thrilled to have gotten accepted, but I must admit that I’m slightly disappointed because I auditioned for the Musical Theatre program, and musical theatre is my love. BUT-- I was wondering what kind of MT opportunities the acting majors get. Are they able to take dance classes? Are voice lessons available to acting majors? If anyone has any information, that would be great! Thank you very much!

I just want to say Congrats! It may not be your first choice but you should feel affirmed about your acting audition and to have an acceptance!

Congrats, musicislife...it may not be your first choice, but it IS an acceptance...I'm happy for you!!!

Thanks! :-) Yea, it's not necessarily my first choice or my number one choice of major, but at least I know I can study at a theatre conservatory next year no matter what. I still have 8 more schools to audition at and hear from, so I'm hoping for a few more options! If I don't have any more options, I'd gladly go to Point Park.

If there's anyone who knows about MT opportunities for the acting majors, I'd still love to hear about it!

Ahhh congrats! Did you audtion on November 8th? I did, and got a callback for MT, but still have yet to hear from Point Park...Im getting really worried!

Check your pointweb account. That's where I found my status...Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!

Alrighty...i got an acceptance to Point Park for MT! $8000 dollars in talent scholarship, $3500 in acedemic :) Now I just have to hear from BW...

That's great news! Congratulations to you!

Isn't CC great? Had you not read to check your pointweb account, you'd still be wonderin' the outcome! :)

hey musicislife! Congrats!! I also auditioned for PP, MT but got acceped into the acting program... acting was originally my first choice, and I have heard a lot of great things about the program. I know acting majors can take voice, and I have heard that if you pull a few strings you can get into dance classes. What was your audition date, maybe I saw you there! I auditioned Dec 6

where did you guys look on your pointweb account?

and how long did you have to wait!? I auditioned this past weekend, Jan 24, and I'm in the same boat. I auditioned for Musical Theatre and got called back for Acting. Just curious on how long the agony will last haha. Also, if you aren't a accepted will they let you know so you're not just waiting or do you simply just not hear back at all?

Hey!
i auditioned at Point Park with musicislife on November 8th. I found out from them on December 4th. I also know though, that my acceptance letter was delayed due to scholarship conflicts. So you should know in less than a month!

Ahhh! Ok! Thank you! The wait is so agonizing! haha. Do you remember where did you look on PointWeb?

kawaii- When you go on pointweb and enter your info, there should be an icon that says something like "check admissions status". Click on it. It will tell you the last thing they sent you. I found out I was in because it said they sent my "acting aprenticeship offer" on such and such date. Sure enough, I got the letter a few days later. So basically, they don't come right out and tell you if you are in, but you can infer by looking at the things they have sent you. Hope that makes sense! Good luck! Keep us posted! :-)
