Can someone tell me how you can incorporate voice and dance into the acting major. My duaghter auditioned for MT but was waitlisted for acting. Not sure if we should even consider waiting…she would definitely need the voice and dance training to meet her goals.

Same here, Nordeal. One of the daughter’s friends attends there as an acting major (I think). She said that the beauty is that they are able to take dance and voice. Based on what I know about other programs, I’m pretty sure that private voice lessons would most likely be an extra cost and based on the availability of the faculty. My guess is that MT students take precedence.

I guess I need to do some homework on this…thank you!

As do I. I hadn’t considered that outcome… :)

I will keep you posted:)

Thanks!! If find any info, I will do the same.

I called Syracuse…they were super nice. First bit of not so good news…if you get off wait list there is usually not much guarantee of money or grants. They said if you do the acting major kids can minor in vocal performance and there are various ways to fit in dance. It seems worth looking into anyway. and thank you…I would love to hear anything you learn!!

Oh…they were unable to tell me how many were waitlisted or the likelihood of getting off the waitlist. That remains a mystery…

Thanks for the info! I had already assumed the grant/money situation for all waitlists.

Yes…that really stinks. I would think whatever money was offered to those who didn’t accept would then be available but it doesn’t sound like that’s the case.
