Emory
Wash. U.

Please add to the list as you hear.

I heard Georgetown was accepting a lot of people yesterday and today from a friend.

Duke is taking people off apparently.

Aghhh… I just sent in my grade updates today… and now I hear that all three of my waitlist schools are active… G’town, Washu, and Duke!!! where is the justice!!! Sheesh, I worked hard for my 4.0 this year (first year I’ve had it too) I just hope they see it, along with the letters I wrote!! :P

^ just go to CMC :P

I applied to all three of those schools and rejected them for Pomona lol

Haha, thanks lolcats
CMC’s great, but I’m still one of those people who wants options. If I’m accepted at all three of those and turn them down anyway (or if I decide to go to one), I’ll know I made the best decision I possibly could have because I had a shot at each of them. Do you understand what I’m saying? It is, perhaps, more about the options or chance to go rather than going to these colleges themselves.

PS: Do you have Facebook? I’d like to get to know some Pomona kids this fall so I can expand the size of CMC. The main thing I am/was worried about is the size, but the consortium consoles my woes a bit.

Excuse my ignorance, but what makes a waitlist “active”?

yep, that’s exactly why I’m staying on my waitlists as well…to keep all options open.

I do have facebook - I’ve been using it 100x more than I normally do to meet my classmates. PM me if you want to find/add me. Size was also a concern of mine in picking Pomona, but I honestly feel like the consortium makes up for it. When I visited there were non-Pomona kids in the classes I sat in on, so from what I can tell, people definitely take advantage of the consortium.

Waitlist are “active” when people are being taken off of them.

When a school doesn’t take students off its waitlist, that means that it’s inactive.

Hope that clears it up.

any news on University of Chicago?

Is Vassar going to be active this year?

So it looks like the following waitlists are active:

Emory
Wash U
Duke
Georgetown
Boston College

^ how do you know about Georgetown? and what about the financial aid if you get off the waitlist at GT? my D received a confirmation email about the WL 3 days ago… do you think it means something? she got waitlisted at JHU and Chicago also but she did not received anything from them. Then she received an confirmation email from Emory also and the next day she got off the WL… so i was wondering maybe Georgetown will call soon…

My daughter did send deposit in to another school but is still hoping for Swarthmore. Has anyone heard if there is any movement there?

Any news from Ivies?

^ judging from last year’s posts they will start next week

Schools with active waitlists so far:

Emory
Wash U
Duke
Georgetown
Boston College
Boston University

Does anyone know if the Bates College waitlist is active?

How do you know about Boston College? If you haven’t heard yet does it mean you weren’t taken?
