In this section, Brown didn’t limit our activities and awards to grades 9-12, but should we still stick to this? It seems quite odd listing stuff done in the earlier years, doesn’t it?</p>
<p>uhm...I think that's what they mean: 9-12..... don't know of anybody listing stuff before the 9th grade.</p>
<p>sorry not allowed...unless you have been doing something since middle school and have continued it through high school.</p>
<p>for example, I've been doing dance, karate, swimming, and soccer since my middle school years.</p>
<p>I was in jazz band from 6-8 grade (Saxophone) but quit at end of 8th, cuz my high school didn't offer a band and I'd have to go to my home high school after school on a long bus ride, which was too much hassle since I had a bunch of other activities. You can opt to write about something like that, but I personally don't think its a good idea, in that they might think you are trying to cover up for something.</p>

<p>Yeah, I wouldn't put anything from middle school, unless it was something extraordinary (winning some national competition or something).</p>
