Activities, Honors, and Essay Questions

If you could help me out a bit, that would be great!

For the Honors section, they ask for awards. Some of these awards are EC awards like debate competitions and FBLA, but the EC section also asks for accomplishments. Do they go into the Honors section or the EC section or both?

In the Education section under Colleges and Universities (for enrichment programs), I put the summer programs I went to. They don't ask for the program name or anything, so if I want to distinguish one, do I put it in Activities section or Additional Information section?

Is volunteering something you put in the Activities section? And if so, do you just list everywhere you have volunteered in the Details part of the Activities section?

For the Details and Accomplishments section under the Activities section, should I type coherent sentences or just list a few things that I did?

Opinion on resume?

How long should essays be? Common and supplemental?

Thanks in advance.

Honors would be academic honors; honor roll and such. If you won something that had to do with academics (like debate), I’d put that there.

Additional info. Or can’t you just write the whole name when they as you for it?

Yes. If it all doesn’t fit, attach a resume.

List them. You won’t have enough space for coherent sentences.

Resumes are good to add additional accomplishments or involvements in activities that otherwise did not fit in your common app. I encourage putting a resume.

Common app should be no longer than 2 pages, double spaced. If you can condense it to be shorter without losing the meaning, do that. Common apps don’t have a word limit. Supplements have word limits, they differ from college to college and can range from 250 - 700 words.
