Does a sport have to be organized for it to be put on college apps? Like does playing by yourself/with one other person casually count?

Sure. I haven’t seen the newest Common App, so I don’t know all the options, but if there’s no category for hobbies, I guess you could put it down as “Other.”

No your sport doesn’t have to be organized. No activity has to be officially organized or sponsored or anything like that. Your EC could be something you do all by yourself - photography, repairing old cars, selling something that you make, etc…They just want to know how you spend your time (the number of hours/wk). Obviously, if you have accomplished, learned and/or contributed something significant as a result, you can always write about it.

You can put it down, but they will pretty easily realize the extent to which you were involved in the activity.
