Hey, did you guys write in complete sentences here or juts list things? How much did you elaborate awards and extracurriculars?

Our son (via the online application), typed in a list of activites. Each item was not a sentence, but was long enough to describe the activity.

President of Blah Blah (2 years)
Member of Blah Blah (4 years)
CSF Life Member
National Merit blah blah
Community Service blah blah Major Activity (2005)
Community Service blah blah Major Activity (2004)
Community Service blah blah Major Activity (2003)
Honor Award blah blah class
Principal's List (4 years)
Two weeks in Mexico with school building homes for the needy.
Outstanding Award for Excellence in blah blah (2005)

when a couple of words will be enough, keep it short.
If you want to emphasize the years, add number of years, or the actual years. If the name of the Organization is relevant and important include it. Balance is the key.

Son was more involved in Leadership, Academics, and Community Service (than in Sports, etc), so he listed those that were his strengths. Yours may be the opposite. Wherever you spent the most time, and hopefully excelled in some of those areas, put those down.

Umm i finished my activity summary but im not sure if it could be formatted better. If any current USC's students are interested in helping me out please message me and ill email you my activity summary word document.
