Interesting article in the Sunday Times today about what a life in the theatre is really like. Profiles and interviews with several theatre professionals about what their lives have been, and are, like. If you don't get the Sunday Times, it's also online. Not sure, but it may require a free registration:

Very interesting, and often sobering, read.

Thanks for pointing this out. Didn't get around to buying the Times yesterday. I'm printing it out for my D as I write.

After a quick glance, it reminds me of a co-worker, a vocal performance major who now practices law. When I explained my D's interest in MT his simple advice was "tell her to marry well."

I joke about how I'm going to spend $200,000 helping my D get a MT BFA only to find her making $16,000 a year in regional theatre, if she is lucky. My wife and I will spend the rest of my days as an indentured servants. Ah what we do for love. My wife and I for the love of our D and our D for the love of MT.
