Camilla Belle, who has appeared in "When a Stranger Calls", "Practical Magic" and "The Lost World of Jurassic Park" is hoping to be a member of the Class of '10.

"One of the reasons Belle likes Princeton so much, in fact, is how different it is from the places she has lived and worked."

"In New York and Los Angeles, it is so easy to get distracted by everything," she says. "Princeton is its own little community." Belle visited the campus twice during high school, and "both times, I had that rare occasion of knowing that I could really see myself there."

yeah.. but I think it's better she's applying like a normal person... shows her to be more down to earth.
it's so unfair that you're automatically in if you're famous

I don't believe that fame is an automatic ticket to admission. It's probably more accurate to say that, if the fame derives from talent and accomplishments, then it's more likely to result in an offer. I haven't followed her career but I loved the movie "Practical Magic".

yes, but it is also hard to tell with show biz. I mean, some might have talent, but a lot also have connections somehow to someone already within the field, and therefore have the oppurtunity to launch a show biz career.
And as for those less talented in their areas, it would be highly unfair - Hilary Duff is getting a Harvard diploma because mommy and daddy paid for Harvard Extension School

Yay! I loved her in those indie flicks, Chumscrubber and The Ballad of Jack and Rose. I was disappointed she did that mainstream "horror" movie. But whatever.

I don't think fame is an automatic in, but it most definately helps.. haha.. then again Joey Cheek who recently who a gold medal in speed skating was deferred from Harvard. However, being famous or winning gold medals in no way is a reflection of your intelligence. And also that was at Harvard, and we don't know Pton's policy to the rich and famous. Could be a developmental candidate...

I don't think Duff is getting a degree. I read that she was taking "classes" at harvard, which are not at all selective.

I don't know if she's intelligent or not, but being famous gives you a whole new world of oppertunity. You don't get in because you're famous persay, but because you have more experiences/accomplishments to add to the pool, which happens because you're famous. At least, that's my guess.

She went to some Cali private school, apparently pretty prestigious, and focused her high school years on academics, not on film. And the school sends a lot of kids to the Ivies. Make what you will of that.

No, going to a good school does not guarantee anything. But she did have all the academic resources available and was focusing all of her attention on them (and a HS life), so I just meant that being a movie star doesn't seem to be her only selling point. Meh :)

She's friends with Lou Taylor Pucci and Justin Chatwin haha. I love these indie film kids!

"Belle had her first professional picture taken at 9 months old and has acted in 11 movies since. Only in Hollywood can a girl at the ripe old age of 18 feel conscious about getting older, so she's looking at the big picture: writing, directing, and getting into Princeton. "It's such a gorgeous campus," she says of the Ivy League institution, which is, incidentally, the alma mater of Brooke Shields. "My mom and I visited twice. I love the curriculum. I love the students. I just love everything about it."

Hillary Duff sucks, I am 100% sure we get a bit dumber each time we listen to her. The poor girl must be deaf, she actually thinks that crap she "sings" is music. She is a waste of air and time. yeah... I just had to say that, I really hate HD.
