ACTs for top schools

<p>I'm applying as a junior transfer to columbia, cornell, and nyu.
Ive decided I will take the ACT. should I do it with writing or without?</p>

<p>In high school I don't think I was that great of a writer on the SAT...</p>

<p>Does the writing section matter for transfer students?</p>

<p>I know for cornell, they require freshman applicants to do the ACT writing, but what about for transfers?
Or columbia? or Nyu? I cant seem the find that info on either college's website</p>

<p>NYU requires the writing test for freshmen. I assume since you are taking the ACT now (and not using old scores) that they will want it. Of course, you can always call the schools and ask.</p>
