Hey everyone! I went to ticalc.org and downloaded some really helpful software programs for my TI-83 Plus Silver Edition.

Here's a list of functions you should get:

***There's a program called "ACT" for the TI-83 Plus - GET IT (lol, as the name implies) - MUST HAVE

Get a descent prime number factoring program

*** "ASOLVER" - ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE SOLVE() FUNCTION FOR THE TI-89 - OMG - A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!***

A program that will solve circle equations for you (also, THE equation of a circle)

*** "30 FORMULAS" - This is another sweet program that you should use with the ACT program - You will have to archive, unarchive to use both ACT and 30 FORMULAS though. - Another MUST HAVE***

Seeing as how the TI-89 is not permitted on the ACT, I loaded up my 83 Silver to the brim (archive, unarchive, archive, unarchive, archive, unarchive,...).

I just took an ACT practice math test from the Prinston Review and I got a 28 with these programs!!!!

I am thinking about taking on the task of creating the port of SAT OS for the TI-83 Plus...this will be an enormous undertaking indeed, but, for you guys, why not? I'll see if I can remember all the commands for the 83 plus

Just search for the keyterms that I listed above and you should be able to determine which one is the correct program.

Again, if I decide to make a port (a duplicate copy of the same program for a different Operating System/different calculator) of my "SAT_OS" for the ACT, it will include all the features listed above and then some in an easy to use, compact (I hope) format. I just need some time. If you are taking the SATs, you can download the TI-89 version for both the SAT and ACT (also for your math class too!) here:

thanks.. please PM me or let me know if you do create the port for the TI-83+ Silver edition.. i am taking the ACTs in june so i need as much help as possible in order to get a 28..(full scholarship to UF)

Well, I realized that I wasted a HELL of alot of time with the programs that I used on my practice ACT because I had to ARCHIVE/UNARCHIVE EVERY TIME I WANTED TO USE THEM! OMG, THAT'S AWFUL!

Anyway, I feel that it only makes sense to make a port for the 83+, because so many people use an 83+ calculator, and not so much the 89 - 89 is incredibly powerful, but for the ACT, it doesn't matter because you can't use an 89 - :(

I feel that I can manipulate the program that takes advantage of the rudimentary solve function on the 83+ and will be able to adapt it to
AUTO-SOLVE equations (almost all of which will be derived from SAT OS, minus the equations/functions that are unnecessary/unavailable-due-to-lack-of-power).

I have sucessfully created the port of SAT OS for the TI-83+. It should be available for public download within the next day or so. Look for it on the main page at:

Hey, Programmer 1324...I've got a Mac, running OS X, and a TI-83 +. I looked around the TI site, and am, unfortunately, still confused. Should I opt for the Graph link, or the Connect? Also, since I'm on a Mac, do I need the entire kit? Thanks.

For Mac, you will need a TI Graph Link (Gray). You can order one directly from TI; The TI-Connect software is available as a free download from:

Hi I barely received my TI-84 plus today and would really love to use these programs for the ACT. I have downloaded them to my calculator, and unzipped the files and all that, but when i click on PRGM and a certain file, such as *30 FORMULAS, nothing happens. is there a special way to access the information? or did i download the program wrong?
