actual decision letter?

I am aware of the "likely letters" that are being mailed out to potential canidates but has ANYONE recieved an actual decision letter. My boss told me that one of the customers' son had already been accepted...

Any confirmation that decisions are, in some cases, being mailed as we speak?

Thanks bunch and Merry Christmas!

Nah, they shouldn't be...the likely letters just say

"I write this morning to thank you for your distinguished application to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the last several weeks, as members of the admissions committee have reviewed your application, we have become more and more impressed by your achievements and your potential. While offers of admission will not be mailed until late January, we believe you are an outstanding candidate-the kind of student who will contribute to our community and make full and creative use of the opportunities we offer."

so I can see where the customer thinks his son is pretty much accepted, although nothing is official.

Happy Holidays!

thanks for the input

It is rather dumb, however, that they won't just go ahead and release decisions if they are sending out likely letters. Theoretically it means nearly the same as getting in.
