Actual school questions.

For the writing requirement you have to take 2 classes right? ENWR 110 or 210 and then another one or is it both 110 and 210? How does taking classes over the summer work?

There are two writing requirements. You have a few options for the first one: (1) ENWR 105 and 106 (2 semesters) if your writing SAT is in a certain range, I forget what it is, (2) ENWR 110 if your SAT is above the cut off for the first option and below 680 (not including), (3) ENWR 210 if your SAT is 680 to 710, and (4) exemption (meaning, you don't need to take the first writing req) if your SAT is above 710.

The second writing req is satisfied with many diff courses, look them up on the COD.

There's another option, where you take 3 semesters of writing to satisfy the req but (I think) it's only if you're international and/or your english is not very good. I don't know the cut off for it.

Ah I see. ENWR 110 seems like the way to go since its easier. Another question: I'm planning on being a Math(general) and Accounting major with a minor in music. I know you dont go to the commerce school until junior year but I figure I'll be done with all my gen. ed. classes by the end of first year. Does this mean my whole sophmore year would be math and music? I ask because usually math is sequential meaning you can't take more than one math class at a time.

Lol, not true at all. Taking calc 2 allows you to take several higher level math classes. Calc 3, linear algebra and others are similar. You could conceivably take 3-4 math classes per semester, if you were up for the challenge.

edit: go to <a href="http://records.ureg.virginia.edu/content.php?catoid=7&navoid=121%5B/url%5D">http://records.ureg.virginia.edu/content.php?catoid=7&navoid=121</a> . Scroll down and click "Display courses for this department" under the Math department. You'll be able to see prerequisites for every class.

That's true. I'm taking Calc 3 and Differential Equations now - some of the materials overlap. Another example would be taking Probability and any other Calc or linear algebra class.

I see. So what about summer school? Are all classes offered during the summer? Its the only way I can see getting a double major.

No, usually only lower level classes are offered during the summer.

Why don't you wait 'til you actually get here before deciding to double major?

I'm just gathering info. I need to decide between UVA, William and Mary, U of Arizona, and U of Pitt. Is there a list somewhere that shows all the available classes for the summer?

What do you need to decide? Where to go?

Here's the course offering directory for last summer. Course selection varies term by term and year by year at every university.

<a href="http://etg08.itc.virginia.edu/cod.pages/20062/ASF/MATH.html%5B/url%5D">http://etg08.itc.virginia.edu/cod.pages/20062/ASF/MATH.html</a></p>

Classes offered are pretty much consistent every summer anyway.

If you took Dual Enrollment English in your senior year, does that exempt you from any courses or earn any credits?
