Actual value of SAT II subject tests

I was wondering what degree of emphasis colleges put on SAT II's when making a decision. For example, is there much of a difference between an 800 and a 750? What about a 750 and a 700? It seems from what I have been reading, as long as you are above 720 ish your OK, as the SAT II's aren't that important...is this true?

Thanks

I was wondering that as well, because I know with the regular SAT I, a 750 and 800 are closer in percentile than with SAT IIs... so with an SAT II, a 750 and 800 would be a much bigger difference, right?

I should add that my first post was in relation to emphesis from the Ivy leagues (Stanford, Duke, UPenn, Brown, etc.)
