I am wondering whether I should just buy some videos from

and watch them whether than just going there. I will probably get the ones for UC davis, UC irvine, UCLA, and UCSD. I am going to one of these colleges in the fall and I want to see them before I choose, I am having a tough time deciding. I can also just take a week off of work ( I am a senior and work 25-30 hours/week during the schoolyear) and drive there and actually visit the campus. But I am really short on money and I am wondering if these videos are worth it (fifteen bucks each).

Anybody seen these videos before? Is it really worth it to drive there? btw, how old are these videos?

mm, i would say visiting is a much different experience especially if you come to visit during school hours and see what a typical day on campus is like.
where exactly do you live? have you had your spring break already? i went to visit colleges during spring break last year.

I'd go visit the campus, I got a better feel for UCSD and UCLA (I didn't realize how radically different their campuses were until I actually walked around there). Most of the vids just show you the pretty parts of campus on the prettiest day of the year (an admissions officer from Irvine once told me) to win you over, so since you've you've got so many choices I recommend you try your best to drive down to some of them, it'll probably be worth the trip to really walk around and really experience what the campus atmosphere is like.

Norcal or Socal? Visiting could be a time-consuming and expensive proposition if you are far away from UCSD, like NorCal.

Check out local schools first though, to get a general impression of what UC life is like (it's largely the same throughout, only difference between UCs is the environment). You may find that your ideal school is not too far away from where you live.
