hi,
does anyone happen to know if MIT offers all the required courses for actuarial science? if so, would you recommend MIT as a school in the actuarial science field? I've browsed the internet for this seemingly available information, but with no luck.
thanks.

What courses are required for actuarial science?

it’s cool, I figured it out. I was really confused about the whole profession.
but in case anyone was wondering:
3 calculus classes
3 economics classes
1 linear algebra
a variety of humanities (mostly english classes)
2 management classes
1 calculus-based economics class

… idk if this is used everywhere, but that’s what i found

Well MIT definitely has calculus - 18.01 and 18.02 cover single and multi-variable calculus, which usually takes at least 3 classes at other schools. 18.06 is linear algebra. The HASS requirement will probably cover the variety of humanities classes you have to take. MIT has a great economics program, which should cover the economics classes you need (14.01 and 14.02 come to mind, which are also HASS classes, and I think are calculus-based). And course 15 has a ton of great management courses. So basically, I don’t see you having a problem taking all required classes at MIT, and I know that MIT has a great economics department, and the Sloan school of management is also top notch. Hope this helps.

ok, thanks for letting me know!
