look, i have a mil ID and I still can't find any damn ACU issue hotweather bellevilles in my size. i've been to two aafes's. one at travis, the other at ft. bliss, tx. [ADA homeland] does anyone know where one can order the dang boots? everything is dang commerical sole. also- are belleville hot weathers the only hot weathers that are gore tex?

calm down...

try the aafes catalog if you are comfortable with that, the number is on the boot letter.

~or~

just buy a pair w/ commercial sole, get used to them on your feet, and get new ones issued on r-day if these do not fly at the point. ( while at Army/Navy LAX, I saw some cadets w/ commercial bellevilles, but the standards may be more strict for plebes...)

get bellevilles... did a roadmarch with altimas today, ouchie. takes way longer to break in. the bellevilles feel like tennis shoes

the bellevilles are pretty comfortable, and definitely easiest to break in, from my experience, I also have a pair of McRae for WP, the workmanship seems better, but they are way stiffer.

do the belleville hot weathers have gore tex?

Don't want to hijack this post or anything, but i think this is kind of relevant. Will they issue New Cadets boot socks on R-Day? I've heard about these Thorlo boot socks and they seem to be pretty nice, can we bring a few pairs of these Thorlos to CBT?

the old socks [cotton blend] were terrbile. everyone wore special wool or synthetic socks. i have a few pairs of smart wool socks which work very well. the new acu socks are green. i just looked up their composition:

2.5% X-static, 82% Cotton, 10% Nylon, 5.5% Spandex
82% cotton? ***! they are useless!

i sure hope we can bring real socks.

Bring sock liners. They'll help prevent blisters.

the new acu green socks are pretty freakin awesome. I personally prefer the black GI wool socks with dress sock liners for a road march. Baby powder bare feet, over liners, and over wool socks.

its all about not having any cotton in your sock. cotton absorbs moisture, making your feet cold and causing rubbing. I did the bataan death memorial march in smart wool sock liners. just sock liners. gotta build up, using foot powder or anything weak like that makes your feet weak.

Yea, the new ACU socks are 20x better. I agree with mrgreenapple--I wear the dress socks underneath regular socks, especially during the winter. You'd be amazed at how much warmth it adds, probably because it wicks away the sweat and keeps it from freezing.

did you do the blue or green route on the memorial march? I think foot powder actually helps condition your feet.
