Ada Comstock Open House

Smith is my top choice at the moment and I would be applying to the Ada Comstock Program for Fall '14. I am wondering if there are any past or current Adas on here who can tell me if it is worth visiting during the open house? I have never visited a college before and would be coming from Texas for the open house, as well as taking a few days off of work. The itinerary is really vague on the webpage:Smith College: Fall Open House: About the Program

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I haven’t been to any Ada events, but I’ve been to other open houses and similar events at Smith. They’ve all been well-run and very informative. As for the itinerary, did you see the link to the schedule of events on the right side of the page?

Yes, but all of the talks and things like that are/were tentative?

I’m sure that a school of Smith’s caliber will have well run events, but is it worth it to fly in from Texas? I’ve never been to an admissions event aside from National Portfolio Day.

I do not have ADA specific information about visiting campus but as a prospective student, if you have the time and money to visit then it isn’t a bad idea but it is also not a requirement. An education is great investment of time and money and you should be sure about your decision and for many people a visit to campus will help them know they are making the right decision. The program will help you get a feel for the campus and to speak with someone in admissions to answer any questions you might have.
