<p>who makes up adcoms? are they "professionals"? do they incorporate professors? or are they pretty much full time read essay etc.</p>
<p>it really depends on the school.</p>
<p>In my experience "adcoms" have been recent undergrad graduates of the college they are working for temporarily. at more prestigious school these postions seem to be more lifetime careers. adcoms are usually never current professors.</p>
