Hi, all,
I have a very disappointed nephew in the midst of applying to USAFA who just got a rejection letter due to taking A.D.D. meds. Supposedly he has to be off of the meds for 1 year before re-applying, although he can supposedly apply for a waiver after 1 Jan 09. Does anyone have any information on this issue? Can cadets take resume use of ADD or ADHD meds after BCT? Have you heard of any waivers?
Thanks for any information you can give!

strackmom: If you haven't already, on www.serviceacademyfourms.com in the DoDMERB discussion, you post this info. MullenLE, the DoDMERB deputy director will answer your question fairly quickly.

Awesome suggestion.. thanks so much. What a great resource to have. Thanks for letting me know about it - I'll pass it on to my nephew right now. I have a son in 2012 so I've been helping my nephew try to get some more information. I knew I could count on someone from this forum!

while we're on this topic, I was on Zoloft for 2 months and have just recently stopped it. Does anyone know if they've been rejected or know someone who's been rejected for taking this drug or something similar?

I do not know, but like Semper said, go here and post to MullenLE for answers. DoDMERB - United States of America Service Academy Forums

Zoloft is a bad thing to have on your record. Prepare to go through heck in the DodMERB process.
