<p>I go to a private school an hour away, I take the train hour there, hour back. my friend who applied last yr to college added "commuted for 2 hours to school" or something like that to EC...is this beneficial in anyway?</p>
<p>Ummm commuting is definitely not an EC. I mean, if you didn’t have anything better to put… The 2 hr commute can show how determined and responsible you are and how you care about your education that you would take a hr train trip to go to a good school. Maybe maybe your teachers/counselor can briefly mention it in your recs but that’s about it…</p>
<p>You might mention it in the “additional info” section if it hurt you as far as being able to do ECs, but it is not an EC itself.</p>
