Add/drop began

yeah. that’s bout it. it appears i couldn’t get into my math because the recitations were full. hm.

but wow they were really on the dot w/ 8/8. 12 exactly…

just letting anyone who needs it know!

yeah, i'm not taking a math class this semester. blah.

you want to but you can't?

I just added on a writing seminar that I actually like. I didn't have one before, so this is a huge upgrade. I love the add/drop period already.

Do we need to come back and add again when some spots appear? Or will our requests stay there until the end of the add/drop or until we get into the courses?

Once a spot opens up it is first come, first served for that spot. You must add the course while a spot is open; there is no "waiting list" for spots of people who have already tried to add it.

Again, persistence is key. Check Penn inTouch as often as you can. There is no way to know when a spot will open, so check it when you wake up, check it throughout the day, and check before you go to bed. Eventually you'll get lucky.

Anyone in a Philosophy Freshman Seminar that really doesn't want it? hopeful smile?

I too can’t get into a math class. I get an error message when I try to register for MATH 114, because I haven’t signed up for the recitation. But all the open recitations are 8:30 to 9:30 on Tues or Thurs, which conflicts with my Intro to Programming course.
Am I really going to have to choose between these two subjects?
It seems like there should be more alternative recitation sections for a basic math course.
Any advice?

Just wait until someone drops the recitation you need. Sometimes the recitations are hard to get :/ AddDrop just began -- people will be dropping all over the place. Have patience! :)

yeah i got the last spot for one of the recitations (meaning someone dropped out) phew

but depending which language i end up taking, my entire sched might have to change. oy.

oh and to frosh: you should probably register for a proseminar, too. in case your favorite one fills up really quickly.

do we HAVE to take them?

Oh, I'm almost there. Just need 3 more openings.
CHEM 101.263
CHEM 053.anywhere from 115 to 120
PHYS 140.014

Oh so close, I can feel it. (You can always get me closer by dropping any of those courses if you have them and don't need/want them. ;) )

i want to take econ 009 or 101, but the only one i can add is the 101 night class - I need to get a permit for the day classes and 009 is unavailable

Even if I am in the College, it appears that there is still space in Management 100. On the booklet it says this is for Wharton students only. Is it impossible for me to take this until next year?

I was lucky to get everything I wanted except for an econ lecture, which as of 12:00 PST was the only econ lecture full. Though I did seem to get a choice time for one of the recitations for that section. But, I love add/ drop and I just completed my schedule! Unless I don't want to walk from Williams to DRL in 10 min, but thats not too bad.

I also signed up for the Proseminar I wanted.

uughh!!!
This is soooo fustrating/boring!
I've been waiting for about 2 hrs now for just two classes (which seem to be the most wanted classes in the world since no one's giving them up)
Isn't anyone going to drop a writing seminar (I know it sounds crazy, but COME ON, GIVE IT UP!!!.........PLEEEEEEASEEEEE!) :D

Gold Duck: I did Williams to DRL all the time last year. It's not bad. Just don't dilly-dally (for lack of a better term).

there are plenty of writing seminars available. Whether you are able to get into the one you want is the question.

i'm really frustrated too... i finally got into a writing seminar that's at least slightly interesting... but it'll conflict with orch rehearsals... anyone want to drop the jazz one or the personal soundtracks, global voices seminar? pleasssseeeeeeeeee??? :)

I don't think you can sign up for MGMT 100, legendofmax.
