When is the Add/Drop period and whats the process during that time ?

You can Drop classes without a “W” on your transcript until September 11. Right now, the semester has not started so you can add/drop until your heart is content. However, once the semester starts which is September 2, only those with with 60 or more credits can add drop , after Sept 2nd anyone can add drop.

Just keep in mind the Drop period ends Sept 11. After that, if you drop you will get a “W” on your transcript. If you need to withdraw I think you just go online and withdraw, it is that simple. You are then taken off the roster and that is it. But, remember you have to always have at least 12 credits being taken, you cannot drop below 12 credits unless you are a nontraditional student or are a part time.

You can add classes until Sept 12.

This should come in handy

@StilloftheNight ok thanks. is it usually easy to get into a class that you want ? and do you when first year students usually get their schedules ? and can first year students also add/drop whatever they want once they get their schedules ?

Basically everyone has already registered for classes. You’ll be able to see what classes are still open and what days/times they meet at. If there is a class you want that is not open, you will need a special permission number from the professor of the class. You should get your schedule in mid August, so about 2 weeks before classes start. And you can add/drop whatever you want except expos I think.

Well right now I am able to see my schedule on webreg and I can add/drop anything I want right now and adjust my schedule how I want it. You should always be able to see your schedule on myRutgers Portal.

It is all up to you, you are are the student. You can do whatever you want and take whatever you want. I am not sure about expos because I am a transfer student. If you want a class to take, I highly advise you to register early for it. Registration is based on the number of credits one has. The more credits one has , gets to register earlier. Basically, registration is getting pretty full right now, but spots do open up and special permission numbers can be requested.
