How likely will closed classes open up again during the add/drop period before school starts?
I have yet to get into a psych class because they are always either full or restricted.

It depends on the number of people who drop them.

And usually, plenty of people drop for various reasons like they got off a waitlist for another class/section and want to do that instead or they just don’t want to do that class at all.

This is copied/pasted from a different thread I answered, but it’s still valid here.

Depending on the class, some profs will have a physical waitlist in class on the first day. Usually what this means is that if you show up, sign the list, BAM you’re added to the class.

Though for some classes, you’ll just have to wait it out on the list. If you need this class for your major, you may be able to convince the prof to add you. To do that, you’d need to talk to your advisor, get a form, get the prof to sign and you’re added to the class.

If you just want to get into this class and it’s not a req for your degree, you’ll probably have to wait it out on the list, or sign up next semester.
