<p>I am a male in colorado and i attend a competative boarding school. I am in the top 15 in my class and i have between a 3.8 and 4.0. I have really really great e.c's and i am class prez. I recieved a 30 on the act without prep. I plan to take the test again and aim for a 32+. I will write an excelent essay and i will get good recs. I am considdering applying early to yale, upenn(legacy), or harvard. </p>
<p>I have a ADD/Dysgrafia (not the best speller). I get extra time on all tests i take. How will my learning disibilities effect my chances at the ivies and other top schools. Will it hurt my chances, help them, or have not effect?</p>

<p>Congrats on your high school record! I'm a parent and assume that since all of the schools you've mentioned offer support services for LD students, they are open to the idea of accepting them. It would be great if the schools themselves would put out information about how they think about LD in the admissions process, but as far as I know, that information isn't made public. If you have good rapport with the GC at your school, you could have a frank talk about this topic with him. Especially at competitive preps, the schools pride themselves on getting as many students as possible accepted at excellent colleges. You can't be the first student at your school who has required accomodation and has done excellent work given those accomodations. How did the GC handle those students' college applications? I also wonder what would happen if you went onto the CC boards of colleges that interest you and asked if any of the students on the boards, especially among the newly admitted or current students, acknowledged an LD in the application process.
