<p>I have donated money to SUNY Geneseo for years now because I am truly grateful for the education and experience I received at Geneseo. </p>
<p>According to Governor Paterson, NY is about to run out of money. It is a true shame to see how many dollars are being cut from the SUNY campuses. In addition, when there is an increase in tuition only a small portion of that increase goes back to the SUNY campuses. There is only so much "Fat" you can cut before you start affecting the quality of the education and overall experience on each of the SUNY campuses. </p>
<p>That is why I dug a bit deeper this year and donated $1,000 to Geneseo. Probably in the next 5 years I will support an endowed scholarship of $25,000. </p>
<p>Not only is it time for Alumni to reach out to their legislators to show your support for SUNY but I believe more than ever it is important that you make a donation. </p>
