Anyone else constantly on this website? How do you get off of it (and no.. you can't just click the red X)??

Getting banned usually does the trick.

Yeah I used to be. I was hooked on all the statistics and the unyielding hope to make myself out of something. This site has a lot of people who are fake, a lot of people who overachieve, misperceptions, and just a lot of people who like to talk about . …talking. Its funny how the human relies on only other people’s expectations, and we take them as gospel.
Life isn’t about stats, getting the best degree, going to the best school, or making the most" prestige" or money. Ditch the site while you can. I mean you can scan over a couple of posts here and there but don’t let it mold your life. This site is actually a good tool for people once you actually get accepted into a college. Then you can use a site to find classmates, dorm room colleagues, and other information about that specific college. But until then love life, enjoy life, and know that you’ll never get these years back again.

If we focus too much on the future we will lose sight of the present. And remember life isn’t about being the best, brightest, smartest, or richest.

I’m not at all saying that this sight is bad, because it’s not, but never let someone else give you answers FIRST, find them within yourself, and within your soul.

*Site, I meant

It’s quite the interactive soap opera. Great idea by whoever thought it up. (Roger?)

Trolls. This site has trolls. Don’t forget the trolls.

Yeah…it’s kinda funny how I choose this website over playing video games and watching tv. It all comes down to me worrying where I’m going to be in the next four years and this forum gives me a good insight. It’s always good to take advice from alumni or people with similar/better stats than you.

And yeah…I “ctrl+W” to close the tab but then I want to read what people say 5 minutes later lol.

-Not a ■■■■■-

Yeah, I’m definitely addicted to this site. Sometimes I wish I would be banned, so I can get away from here for a period of time. Sure, there’s plenty of helpful information on this site, but overall, this site is pretty much just another procrastination tool for me.

Yes, absolutely. I convince myself it’s not bad because at least it’s a college site. My parents think I’m awesome and studious because I’m always looking at educational sites.

I hate those people who get mad because they got a 2380… That’s an insult to 99.99% of high schoolers.

I used to be one of those people who got stressed out after reading some people’s stats on here but after awhile I realized it’s not worth it and just moved on. I stopped coming on here so often (expecially during the school year) and now I just try to focus more on what I can do to get to where I want to be in the future…

AND I DEFINATELY AGREE WITH YOU College123

I’d get mad if I got a 2390 or something. I got a 2340 and I’m totally fine with that, but 2390 is just so frustratingly close to perfect.

I feel like this will be a distraction during the school year, which sucks, because I already have enough.

and i see what you are saying halcyonheather, but you know what I meant… I was just giving an (apparently bad) example.

My blood boils when I see “Retake 2200”? When they’re are people out there who are happy with a 1900.

God forbid anyone have ambition.

(I kind of agree, though.)

The “Should I retake a 790” on the SAT Subject tests are worse in my opinion.

No one where I live has ever heard of Subject Tests. At the test center, I was literally the only one taking them. The proctor intermittently fell asleep and snored.

Oh I understand. Like my brain told me, “Apollo, posting too much on HSL is stupid! It doesn’t help you for college and it doesn’t even increase your post count”, but then I’m back, trying to get a fix, faster than a meth addict…

So moral of the story:

Meth. Not Even Once.

Hi, my name is NewDivide, and my CC addiction is sucking the free time out of my summer.

What could be more important than arguing with teenagers and their moms on the internet?
