<p>Once add/drop starts up, I was thinking about trying to get into Russian 101, but it's listed as requiring department permission.</p>
<p>How exactly does this work? Who do I need to get in touch with, and do I have to drop by or can I shoot them an email?</p>
<p>You should shoot an email to the department head or program director for Russian and East European Languages department:</p>

<p>Just email him asking how you would like permission to add the class. I usually ask them if I can meet with them in person, even though most of the time they are willing to give you a permission number then and there. </p>
<p>But always ask if you can meet in person and let them decide whether you should meet with them or if they can give you a special permission number via email. And always add a “thanks in advance!” :)</p>
<p>“Professor Pirog has his main office at 172 College Avenue, but has hours in Scott Hall 236 as well.” (They didn’t specify his office hours, but maybe you can ask him that in the email)</p>
