I'm 17, a fall '08 college applicant; have decided to give myself a Christian middle name since I've converted to Christianity.

How will this affect my I-20, my passport, my current visas et all ?

Thanks.

i think you have to do a legal name change. i hate my middle name and when i was getting my license renewed, i asked the guy to take it off, but he said he couldn't unless i went to the court and legally had it removed.

maybe you could just use your new middle name and wait to officially change it after you turn eighteen?

As an international student, wouldn't it be much tougher to do so once I'm already in the States? What happens to my Visa et all then ?

why do you want a Christian middle name?

Reasons a tad too personal for me to post here. :)

I misread and thought it was for your college application (maybe getting into a school easier). lol

I imagine it would be more difficult for you to do. You would maybe be required to get all new identification things. (like if I was to get married), but I'm not sure about that unless you middle name actually shows on those things. I don't know who you'd even contact about changing your name or anything. You could contact/look at the website of who issues those items.
