Adding a second major?

Hey guys, I was accepted to Northeastern as a biochem major, which was really exciting, but since then I've had some thoughts about double-majoring with economics, just for wider opportunities in career placement, grad school, etc. (and because it's interesting). At the other schools I'm looking at this isn't much of a problem, but because econ. and biochem fall under different colleges and I was admitted to College of Science, would two majors at different schools not be possible? I would be using AP credits and doing 1-2 co-ops instead of 3 to lighten the load. I'm in honors, if that makes a difference. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Two majors in two different colleges, provided its the old CAS colleges like this situation is, is no problem at all. You’d just go and talk to the other major’s advisors.

But be warned that doubling in two subjects as completely different as biochemistry and economics will be hard. The only subjects that overlap are calculus and the core. You might not be physically able to take all of the classes in time. You need to look at the list of required courses for both majors (and not all are available every semester) and figure out what you’re actually going to be able to take.
