Adding major at orientation

Son is wanting to add a Math major to his Physcis major. Can this be done at orientation? Should it be? Or should he wait until after the first year?

Thanks.

There are several tracks for math majors depending on specific interests/goals. See: [Majors/Tracks and Minor in Semesters | Department of Mathematics](http://www.math.osu.edu/ugadvising/majorsandminors)

I don’t think it’d be hard to add a major at Orientation because both majors fall within the College of Arts and Sciences. However, it would be wise to call the Admissions Office and let them know your son’s interest in a double major and see what they recommend. He can declare an extra major before Orientation and I think it will help them plan for the advising he will get at Orientation.

Thanks RMGsmom. I think I’ll call admissions tomorrow. Only problem is we’re going to orientation Wednesday.
