Yeah it will, but when you move out of the dorms, that money will come in handy for eating on campus.

how do you check how many meal points you have online?

also, if you're eating at the DCs or crossroads, do you just give them your cal1card and they know to take points off your mealplan instead of your debit account?

You can go to http://caldining.berkeley.edu/meal_plans.html and sign in. It shows you all the transactions you have made. But im not sure if it has current points since the year hasnt started.
Yes, they will take points off meal plan first. If you have no more points, it will take it off your debit account, assuming you have money (If you dont have money, you will get declined).

Revive...

My grandma has offered to help me with school in a sort of small way. I figure that she can easily add small increments of money to my Cal 1 Card or buy my non-residential meal plan (would be nice if she could do both).

I am just wondering, if my grandma puts money on my Cal 1 Card now, is it possible to then use that money to buy a meal plan when they go on sale for the fall 2008 semester?

Hm, maybe it would be easier for her to just write a check to me...but I kind of like the idea of money just appearing on my Cal 1 Card every few months.

Just ask her to write you a check (assuming you're not irresponsible with your money.)
