So, i’m applying to some schools on the paper common app, and some with the schools own app. The rest i’m doing online with the common app (except chicago). I plan to submit an additional list of ecs on paper with the paper apps. What is the best format for this? Would it be best to follow the format on the common app? Also, on the online common app, we’re just given a free space to add any additional ecs. should i just write a sentence or two about each of the remaining ones? Your help is appreciated
thanks

Bump...anyone?

Everything you have said sounds just fine. List format would work great...Just make sure to include any leadership positions you held.

You can search this forum and there is tons of advice of how to make a resume or brag sheet. If you do, I'd group it if possible, into catagories. But this is something that is not really necessary. If you think about it, the schools are well aware that you can do tons and tons of things, yet they only give you 6 spaces or whatever. So that's the saturation level for them, imo. Just pick the top ones that fit. So what if you also did a few more things? Maybe they will be in the GC rec. Or not. I think they can get a better feel if you edit them to the strong ones.

Field research in xxx - 2 years coursework, 4 years field work, research paper

Varsity track - 4 years

Editor School Paper - 1 year

etc, etc (these are just fake off top of head items)

You have to think how boing long lists will be after reading thousands of apps, and how diluted the ones that matter will become buried in your long list.

(oh, and dd was accepted to Chicago and a bunch of other really great schools)
