I just submitted FASFA to eight schools, and a message popped up, saying, “Your application was submitted and is being processed. This usually takes up to three business days from the date submitted, so check back later.”
I have to add/remove a few more schools, as well as change housing plans for some of them.
I heard that after a couple days, you will get a Student Aid Report (SAR), and with that you can change the school information. Is this true?
Are you starting school in January? If not, and you are doing this for financial aid for Sept 2017, you have to wait until Oct 1 to submit the fafsa.
If you are doing it for January 2017 (it’s just unusual for someone to have 10+ school applications for January admission), and did use the correct form for 2016-17, you should make sure the schools have ‘pulled’ your application and processed it. At this time of the year, schools might not be pulling the reports as often as they do in the spring so it may take more than 3 days.
@twoinanddone@thumper1 I’m still a high school senior and will be starting school in Fall 2017. Also, the way I understood it was that although the FASFA opens on October 1, you could still submit it beforehand.
Since I’m doing this for Sept 2017, how do I submit the form another time? At the moment it’s being “processed”, after which I’ll get my SAR. Sorry, I’m not really sure as to how this process works. Thanks!
