Additional Academic Information

As an Asian, I feel my class rank (8%, downward trend), SAT II's (790, 740), and no AP scores (however 7 AP Classes junior year) are weak for the HYPSM applicant pool. wanted HYPSM to deem me academically qualified, and let EC's do the rest of the work. Is there any way to raise my academic index from 6 to (hopefully 7), or is there any particular information that would be helpful to include in an additional letter? For example, external courses I took, extenuating circumstances, etc?

Thanks everyone!

Congrats on your achievement to date. At this point, there’s nothing more to do. The fact is you ARE academically qualified. But the schools you mention are looking for more than that (which you know). So why focus on moving the ball forward in an area you’ve already distinguished yourself?

May I offer this advice? 4.0 and 2400SAT kids will be rejected at those schools. Kids w/scores and grades worse than yours will be accepted there as well. It’s not straightforward – you’ve just got to accept that. Based on your academics to date, it’s 99% likely that you’ll have a wonderfully successful college career. The eventual school you attend wont’ make or break you. The earth won’t split if you (or someone else) doesn’t get accepted into HYPSM. Been there done that. It’s not everything. Not at all.

@T26E4‌ Thanks! I’m fully aware that where I go doesn’t split the earth. However I’m filling out applications, and wanted to know if I submit something to help my academic side, since I’m significantly lower than most Asian CCers

I’m just going to bump this, because why not. Anyone else have any opinions?
