Additional Aid: is it necessary to report them

My Financial Aid package for U of Florida consists of 2 grants and 2 loans that amount to 80 percent of my cost of attendance. I've been awarded a number of scholarships (including Bright Future) that are absent on my Aid Package, is it really necessary for me to report them to my school's financial aid office?
I'm thinking that they will find out anyway

Yes it is necessary to report any outside scholarship because:

First of all it reduces you self help aid (loans and grants) and helps to but you on the path of graduating debt free.

Any additional monies will be used to reduce the schools aid (grant)

If there is any monies after that, depending on the school they may allow you to reduce your EFC.

Your failure to report could result in a number of things including fraud(which can lead to supspension/expulsion), your losing FA in subsequent years and having to repay the school for the monies that they did give you

Yes, if you got A FLORIDA Bright futures scholarship and you go to school in Fla the FA office is going to know about it because more than likely the check will be made out either to the school or jointly to you and the school.

thanks you for your advice i'll soon report them
