What, if anything, are you supposed to put under additional information? If I wanted to submit an essay for the additional essay and then maybe also a list of every book I've read, could I put that under additional information?

i’m not submitting an additional essay or info

I think the additional information section is good for addressing personal circumstances that concern your application whereas the additional essay is really another chance to let your personality shine through.

it’s for listing information that may not “fit” in the other fields…on CommonApp at least. For example, if you have more extracurriculars than spots are available on the app, you list them there. or if you have more awards than there is space for, etc.

I’m probably going to add an additional essay. Maybe a list of athletic awards and additional AP tests, too.

hmm okay. so would i put like, my resume in the additional information?

Harvard makes it open-ended, and gives you the responsibility to decide what else, if anything, would be useful. That’s Harvard. If you’re a self-starter with a tolerance for ambiguity, Harvard is your kind of place. If you like structure and hand-holding, you’ll probably do better to apply elsewhere.
