Additional Info and Activities Questions

Do I approximate the hours I spent on an activity or will have spent by the end of this school year? For example, I co-found my school's Astronomy Club this year. Do I put the hours as 2 hr/wk and 2wk/month or 2hr/wk and 20wk/month?

For the elaboration on a specific activity short 150-word essay, do I have to write it essay-style? As in, do I have to write it with eloquent words and paragraphs? Or can I just describe tersely and directly my role in the activity?

What does it mean when it asks for the credit value of my Senior classes? What do I put there.

What do people usually put in their additional info section? I need a visual example because I can't imagine it. ._.

This forum hates me. It always takes forever for someone to respond to my threads.

Bump and I have another question:

On the preview, I notice that some words on my EC description got cut off. How do I fix that? Same with additional info. Is it better if I upload it?

Bump, I’m curious about the answers to your questions as well!

20 wk/month doesn’t make much sense, does it? Did you mean 20 wk/year? That would be fine for this year’s activities. Schools recognize that the hours disclosure is an inexact science. Just estimate your hours the best you can and just be sure not to overestimate the total hours you list for all your ECs.

The style of your short essay is up to you, but most people do use paragraph format.

Most schools give 1.0 credit per year per class and in that sort of system each class generally counts for 0.5 credits per semester. Look at your transcript to see how many credits are listed by your school for your classes and use the same system that your school uses on the transcript.

Additional info is just that. A spot for important and relevant information that is not already covered somewhere else in the app. There is no format or guideline as this is an individual matter.

You were smart to use preview. Colleges who view your app electronically will see the same thing you see in the preview. The form is set up (badly) so it is possible to enter more characters than the amount that actually show up on the preview. You need to cut down your responses a bit so they will see what you write.
