Additional Info confusion

<p>Is it acceptable for additional information (activities sheets, research abstracts) to be included in the Additional Information section of the Common Application? Or, should I make a separate version of the CommonApp for Stanford without this additional information (none of my other colleges have a problem with it)? I wasn't sure if the information on the admissions website was talking about additional materials sent/mailed to the admissions office OUTSIDE of the CommonApp (which includes the Additional Info) and Stanford Supplement, or all submitted information in general.</p>

<p>I can’t remember where I read it, but IIRC, Stanford Admissions doesn’t like additional EC/Community Service/Etc to be attached as “Additional Info.”</p>

<p>when they mean additional info, they mean additional info OUTSIDE of the common app. That said, they hate resumes and activity sheets with a vengeance. one adcom guy told me he wishes he could burn all the resumes he sees XD so as long as you use substantial new information/explanations that have depth, go for it. I’m not sure if I’d do the abstract, though; the point of submitting research papers or abstracts is to have them evaluated by knowledgeable faculty (e.g. caltech and harvard might forward your material on to scientists in your field), and as stanford doesn’t do that, the average admissions officer probably cant understand scientific jargon. personally, i made different versions of the common app :)</p>
