I'm going to explain all my ECs a little further with like a paragraph each or something along those lines. Now, there is a space for "Additional Info" in both the Common App and in the Supplement. Where should I put this information?

Thanks.

If you want all the school's to see it, put it in the Common App, like that you don't need to worry about a school not having a place for it on their supplement.

can u do that? explaining ur ECs in additional information?

You can say whatever you want in the Additional Info, that's what it's there for.

how long can the additional info be? i'm sure they don't want to see another essay.

I put a little over 200 words on the Common App additional info. I wrote about how I can't choose my classes in the public school system in my country.
I'm sure they don't want you to write 1000 words, but if you have something important, like an explanation of ECs or anything like that, I'm sure that's fine.

is everyone explaining their ECs in additional info, or is it just special ECs that are otherwise unclear w/o explanation?

You can really put whatever you want. It's a space for absolutely anything you want to say that you were not able to provide in the essays.
Schools will not look down on you, even if you submit a 1000 word essay in Additional Info. They'll see you've done extra work, you're not a slacker, and if your essay is really good, or even somewhat good, it will not work to your disadvantage.
Don't worry about the formalities of where to put what. The schools just want to get to know you. It doesn't really matter what box it's in.

i don't think that's a good idea, adcom will be like: this kid thinks he's better than everyone else, submitting additional information that's longer than a regular applicant's real essays, and he clearly can't follow directions....
but i could be totally wrong.
