Additional Info Query

Hello,

I just want to clarify.

Does Stanford U prefer all my additional info in the small yellow with the character limit provided or does it prefer the attachment option where I attach a doc with my list of activities?

I am asking since the latter option of attaching is much more organized but I heard from some1 that Standford actually discourages doing that.

Please enlighten me.

Rgs

I haven’t heard anyone mention a preference for the attachment option vs the character box, so I imagine which ever you want to do is fine.

What they do discourage is sending in some sort of resume type thing (which a list of activities sounds like an abbreviated version of). So really I would pick your most important activities and include/write about them in the appropriate parts of the application. no one is going to be impressed with a laundry list of things you committed 0.5% of your extracurricular time to.

they prefer that you do neither

sorry to bring up this topic again, but will it hurt my application if i attach an additional info document?

when an admissions came to our school, she repetitively said that we shouldn’t attach anything extra; however, using the additional info character box should be fine…she said to just stick to the spaces provided on the common app

hey Dana,

Thats what I heard too. That putting it in the character box is better than attaching an entire document.

Thanks for the info
