So, My friend got an email from Stanford asking him to provide additional info about my Native American Heritage so he did. But, he's wondering, how can he ensure that they have received my additional info? He emailed it to them.

Is your friend actually you? Or just a typo?

Did they ask for it e-mailed? Because from the confirmation e-mail they sent to all applicants, it looks like Stanford normally wants these things faxed.

But if you have your CommonApp ID on it, I’m sure they would have received it and put it into your file. Everything should be good if the e-mail went through and the address is correct.

Sorry, the “my” part was just a typo. He said in the email Stanford said he could email it, fax it, or mail it. So, he chose to email it. But, he is worried they may not have received his email.

I don’t think there’s much he can do to verify it. If everything else in his application is complete/processed, he should be fine. And I don’t think the admissions office would appreciate an email asking to verify that they got it.

Must stink to be applying/competing with your friend, eh?

Yeah, and it sucks he gets the URM advantage.

I thought you said you were URM somewhere too though. Plus, I think Stanford looks at each applicant on a case-by-case basis, so you guys going to the same school doesn’t really matter all that much! Good luck StanfordCS!!!

I am a URM, but not Native American. Thanks for the well-wishes.

hi lordfarquaad! :D

According to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1218970-aid.html#post13271799 you are a Native American?

I’m like 10%, but my friend is 50%. Although, I’m 90% African American.

So, on the CommonApp I put mixed.

StanfordCS, you seem to be a huge fraud. You’ve been asking questions for your “friend” in this thread; here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1114565-native-americans-cs.html;; here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1135262-mini-chance-thread.html;; and here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/1102599-friend-wants-know.html.

Why can’t your “friend” get his own account and ask the questions himself? I’m seriously doubting the typo in this thread.

Also, exposing the guy with the unique EC in that other thread was in very bad taste too.

Hopefully the world will find balance.

Well, how about the fact he cannot afford internet? Heard of that? He is a member on here, because he goes to the library often, but many days he cannot so he texts me then I ask CC.

But he can afford a cell-plan…

Lol, there are people in this world with phones who can’t even put food on the table.

I don’t understand why you’re afraid to ask questions on your own part…it’s no big deal. Stop lying. The more you try to fix your lie, the more obvious it is.

Also, the best thing to do is to call the admissions office and confirm, in my opinion.
