Would it be silly to include in the Additional Information Section that I self studied an SAT history test that I have not taken any classes to prepare for?

I'm currently unsure about how I did, but consider both situations - if i did well, would it still be beneficial? If i did poorly, would they accept this as an explanation and take it into consideration? (It's my third SAT II, and my ED school only suggests two.)

Thanks in advance.

You don’t need to include it; they’d guess that if you didn’t take a course at your high school for the SAT, you probably self-studied it.

Thanks for the comment.

Just to clarify, though, I take History HL in IB, but my course only covers European and Asian history, and only of a certain period of time. However, it worries me that colleges would assume that a higher level History course would include American history… (unfortunately, it seems Asian IB course designers don’t agree on the importance of American history… heh) The only bit of American history we cover is the American perspective of the Cold War, which we haven’t even covered as of my test-taking, since we study it in the second half of Senior year.

Considering my additional information, would you still suggest I not include it? I would not want to tarnish my image as a strong History student…

I have the same question as the OP, except I’m taking World History so it’s an even bigger area that we haven’t covered in class.

Bump! Help, please. My counselor recommended I not self study a test, so I don’t think he would help much with this.

And that’s two nights in a row now that I’ve dreamt about receiving these SAT scores on Thursday…

Hi guys- I just received my results and got a 680. Would it make sense to explain why its weak?

no. a 680 isn’t even a bad score
