For the additional information section of the common app, you can mention circumstances. I’m thinking of mentioning that Throughout my junior and senior year, my younger sister was in and out of eight different mental hospitals for her depression. Sometimes I needed to leave early or miss class in order to visit her.
Though my grades did not suffer because of this, it was and is extremely stressful and painful

Ask your GC to mention health problems of an immediate family member in your junior year in their recommendation instead of you want to include it. But if you had no dip in grades or ECs due to it, I would leave it out altogether. You are trying to put the most appealing package together that you can; this doesn’t really add to that,
I would include it. It sounds like it was a pretty important issue in your life, and the fact that your grades didn’t suffer shows you coped well and could’ve done even better.
