Additional info section on common app?

Hi, I am tidying up my application to submit and just had a brief question on the additional info section.

Would it be okay if I addressed how I ran for my school’s Model UN exec board this year but that my advisers were unable to sign us up for the November conference in time so they could not release the election results?

Also, would it be okay to add in that my school created its first chapter of the national english honor society that I was just accepted into? I ran out of space to add that in the activities section and since it was only created this year I did not add it in.

I was also thinking about adding how I played tennis 9-10th grade because I did not add that in my activities section either due to a lack of space.

I have heard people say you should avoid adding extra activities in the additional info section but I already submitted some of my EAs so now I’m debating on whether i should delete them for the other colleges. Should I keep what I wrote down or would it negatively impact me?

In my opinion, these aren’t necessary. But that’s my opinion.

There is no point in doing the first two things.

Will playing tennis in 9/10 improve your application? Probably not.

Add something positive if you use this section at all.

Add something that will really supplement your application that is NOT mentioned anywhere else on your application. Most students, I would imagine, leave this section blank unless there is really something that needs to be mentioned.

This is the problem. You can use this to help set yourself apart. From the counselors I know they have their students use this for something positive as I said. Leaving it blank wastes a section to help your application. It’s being maybe creative without being too cute…
