Additional info?

Today Brown emailed me asking if I wanted to submit supplementary info about the arts or scientific research (basically anything not listed on my ED app.) Is this normal?

Everybody got the email. Log into your Brown account and you’ll see a file application thingamabob if you need to use it.

Great, thanks!

Does it mean they have finished reviewing the majority of the material? Should we use it as an opportunity to send poems or short stories, or is this unnecessary information?

That would be unnecessary material unless they’re very important and have been published.

Do you think we should include a resume if it reflects things not on common app (int. travel)? And should we update them if we join another sports team or left out a minor EC?

I submitted a document as supplementary materials on my Application Summary page. After I submitted, it was said on the website that “Submission successful! Thank you for updating us with this additional information. Your document has been added to your application and please know that it will be given full consideration…” But the next time I signed in, I didn’t see any sign of my document in the supplementary materials section on the Application Summary page. So I’m wondering if my supplementary doc has really been received successfully by Brown or not? Thank you.

If you received an acknowledgement that it uploaded successfully, I think you can safely assume that it did indeed upload successfully. It’s possible their application summary page doesn’t immediately reflect new submissions.

If you submit a resume, my daughter didn’t so I don’t know that it is a good idea or not, I would not update it with minor events like a minor EC left off or a late join to a sports team. I wouldn’t submit updates unless it is a significant award or publications type deal.

@hapt9695 Mine did that as well. I’m not sure if my materials went through or not…Would it be too late to contact the University and confirm that they received those additional materials?
