<p>Can this be an amalgam of everything that won't fit on the application? Extra SAT II's, college classes, an explanation of why I couldn't do a particular EC senior year in which I had participated throughout high school, etc.-- all in the same 1000 character box?</p>
<p>Or is it possible (and better) to upload multiple documents for each case? And if I do upload additional information as a document, should it follow the 1000 character limit as in the box provided by the Common App?</p>

<p>I think it would be best to upload just 1 additional documents summing up all of the reasons. The fewer paper they have to sift through the better. =]</p>
<p>Thanks for the advice, very true about sending as few papers as possible; but what if I wanted to explain my lack of EC continuity senior year, as well as list other things like extra test scores and college classes? The Common App says, “Include the titles of courses taken and grades earned in the Additional Information area of the Writing section.” It’s imperative that I include the explanation, but I also need to list my college classes in the Additional Info section.
That said, can I upload multiple documents? If not, would it be imprudent to attach a single, continuous Word file with my explanation, classes, etc.?</p>
<p>EDIT:Okay, so I messed around uploading some test documents, and it appears that if you upload a second document, it usurps the place of the first. Someone can verify this, but if so, the option of multiple documents for different ends seems to be out.</p>
<p>I just tried uploading two documents to test it out and the second one overwrote the first, so I think you may need to just need to do one well-organized Word document.</p>
<p>I’m worried that, even if well-organized, a document covering many different items might annoy admissions.</p>

There are so many places throughout the Common App where they say to add to the additional information section if you need to say more…I think that’s what it’s there for.</p>
<p>Many people seem to think that you always have to attach a document to the additional info.</p>
<p>Why not just fill out the space they give you by adding some bullet points? like</p>

<li><p>I took 2 more SAT II tests, and the scores were: …</p></li>
<li><p>I took 3 college classes during my senior year at … The classes were : …</p></li>
<li><p>I couldn’t participate in a lot of ECs because…</p></li>
</ol>

<p>Damn, I just realized that if opting for a resume, it has to be attached to the Additional Info section as well. This whole process is going to be a pain.</p>
