Additional Information: Moving 4 Different High Schools Appropriate?

Should I mention moving cities/states and going to 4 different high schools in my additional information section?

Long story short I have been homeless on and off my high school experiences and it has caused me and my family to move schools. I never mentioned the moving part in my essays so is it appropriate to mention it in additional information.

The main reason why I am asking this question is because I read somewhere that college applicants should avoid cliche topics like moving in their essays. But does that go for additional information as well?

AND is mentioning a sport important? I did track and field for 3 years but didn't have room to put in into my extracurricular activities section... Is this additional information material? And how could I incorporate this with the whole moving thing or should I even mention it at all?

Yes, you should mention moving around. It’s important information. As for not having room for track and field in the activities section, try to consolidate some of the activities or omit lesser activities.

If you feel comfortable with it, have your HS GC discuss the fact that you have attended several different schools. It is often helpful to have this kind of information come from a third party.
